Sierra Azul Trail Challenge: 50K, Marathon and More – April 28, 2018

This race offers a bounty of distances for a wide range of runner abilities: 50K, Marathon, 18.8 Miler, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. You will be running through the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve. You can run with the wildlife. Deer and other critters may but no bulls or buffalos will be found on the course.

The 50K is not for the weak of heart with two steep climbs. Luckily there are generous downhill portions before both of the climbs. All races start at 6 am at the Start/Finish line at the Hicks Road intersection.

Registration for this race is via the Active web site. Click here to register. The fees are as follows:

$90 for the 50k
$70 for the Marathon
$65 for the 18.8 miles
$50 for the Half Marathon
$40 for the 10k
$35 for the 5k

The fees are non-refundable except of the race being cancelled. A maximum of 130 people are allowed, so register early!

Several parking areas are available. Check with the Troy’s California Trail Runs web site and click on the Sierra Azul Trail Challenge. You will find all the race information.

Have fun! May you run like a mountain lion is chasing you!
