Governor Brown has declared a state of emergency as wildfires rage at Yosemite National Park. Firefighters have been able to contain only 5% of the 200 square mile fire. Evacuations have been ongoing and officials are urging people to leave the dangerous areas. Four residences and twelve outbuildings have been destroyed already.
San Francisco is in danger of losing water and power as the Hetch Hetchy reservoir is very close to the fire. Already two power generation stations have been shut down. One remains operational at the moment.
Over ten fire companies are fighting the fire in addition to helicopters and bombers dropping water and fire retardant. Over 5,500 homes are in danger.
