With the unemployment up to sky-high levels, people are starting to do some stupid things in order to survive. At least the news is reporting all the copper thefts.
People are even stealing those bronze cups that hold the flowers from graveyards. A few people have even been electrocuted when attempting to steal power lines.
I Maryland, some of would-be thieves were caught cutting up a steel light pole. They parked their pickup truck next to the pole near an off ramp in the town of Glen Burnie and put up the hood as if they were having car problems. An alert motorist called police and the Maryland State Police caught two men cutting up the pole with one section already in the bed of their truck.
Looks like they may possibly be doing some time in jail. They just ruined their lives by getting caught.
At least they waited until there was a power outage to cut the pole down. Safety first, you know?
